How can we get funding for our startup?
Get in touch with us right away. We aim to support bright ideas and help ambitious people innovate in the field of mobile computing platforms. We may not respond to all submissions we receive, but if you have an interesting idea or a promising team, we'd love to hear from you.
We've already been working on our startup for a while. Can we still apply?
Certainly. In fact, this would help us consider your application in a positive light, as we will get a sense of the level of dedication you have for your idea. However, we intend to be an early stage seed fund. If you've already raised Series A funding, for instance, you probably shouldn't be applying here.
How much do you invest?
That depends. In general, the idea is to offer all fulltime founders of the startup enough support to ensure that they are in a position to build and launch their product or service as soon as possible. Typically, this would involve basic monthly financial support as well as help with company incorporation and related expenses.
We don't really need the money. Does it still make sense to apply?
Very likely. As a PollenEight funded company, you will get other substantial benefits, such as introductions to the right people, help with fine-tuning your idea, launching your company to the right audience, and so on.
Do we need to write a business plan?
Short answer: No. Business plans are important for getting a few people excited, but we know that as you start implementing your idea, things change every day. Making a business plan shows us that you can think long term--but that's a sense we'll get even from some casual talk with you. If you do have a business plan, send it in, but if you don't, that's good too.
Can a single person apply for funding?
Yes, but your chances are much better if you are a small team. One-person initiatives run the risk of failing too easily, and depend entirely on just that one founder. A team of people working together usually has far better chances of success.
